A small strawberry plant has taken up residence by the parking spots, next to the discarded toy lawnmower and the half-used bag of fertilizer that sags and buckles like it got kicked in the gut. The bush has a single, perfect badge on its green sleeve -- a pink berry that fades into deepkiss red like a Hypercolor t-shirt.

I want this strawberry so, so badly. First in my palm, and then in my happy mouth. It makes me feel like The Baby Skunk, really.
