Why The Cure? Why Not! by Me

-Robert is boy-girl swoon material. He sings about dreams the way that some dreams actually are when you have to put words to them, and he's not tricky and all puffed-up (well, I mean ego-wise, but he is pudgy Fat Bob now) and he can make you go, "Yes! That's the way it is! Thank you for telling me," even if you never say things like that. Plus, his musical items just sound so, so, so fine.

-Simon Gallup looks like a Japanese fighting fish, like a black koi with a bass strapped to it...as in music-bass, not another fish-bass. Obviously. Simon uses words like "cack" and makes us laugh. He's also a crunchy-thrummy bass player and is the most fun to watch live. Bonus = he and Robert are longtime friends, and that's sweet as bees.

-My manfriend and I were going to make a Lol (as in laugh outloud) at Lol (as in Tolhurst) site a while ago with nothing but video screen caps of Lol being an idiot, because there are so many good examples. What was with him in the early stuff like "The Walk" and "The Caterpillar"? He's this wind-up doll with a squishy face and he dances like a mad toddler. And when he falls through the bed in the "Let's Go to Bed" vid, it's a king corny moment. Lol's a SpAz.

-The music. It is GREAT.
